In the hurried rhythm of our lives, the relentless pulse of daily demands, it's easy to lose sight of the sacred pause, the gentle whisper of Sabbath's invitation. It's a gift freely offered, a haven of rest woven into the fabric of creation. A time to breathe, to reconnect, to remember. As the world's clamor fades, and a quieter melody begins to play, let us reflect on the beauty and purpose of this holy day, a day set apart by God Himself.
"Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it." - Exodus 20:8-11 (NKJV)
Sabbath's Quiet Heartbeat
The world's loud rhythm slows, a softer pulse begins, Sabbath's gentle whisper, where new life within us wins. A gift of rest, freely given, deep and true, A space for peace, where weary souls renew. Six days we sow, beneath the sun's bright gleam, But one He hallows, a sacred, holy dream. "Remember," echoes softly, a timeless, gentle call, "Six days for labor, but on the seventh, fall Into My arms, find solace, and be still, No earthly striving, just My perfect will." A day for family, laughter's joyful sound, A quiet moment, where God's own love is found. A day to breathe, to ponder, and to pray, Reflecting on His goodness, at the close of day.
